It’s officially summer in Southern Ca! Campus is just a bit quieter, the temperatures are getting warmer, and most importantly, the pace in our workplace has slowed down. We are also taking advantage of this downtime to explore l . a . and all our town has to supply our students.

Like in previous summers, we’re utilising the summer time Restaurant Series, planned by some of our very own peers, to explore the local cuisine. Simply month that is last we ventured to 23rd St. Café in USC’s garden. This unique restaurant offers United states, Indian, and Mexican food, in addition to some fusion dishes. The Chicken Tikka Masala quesadilla was quite popular in our group! For the food that is second, our restaurant series took us to Umamicatessen. According to the website, this location is ‘inspired by worldwide street bazaars as well as the classic American delicatessen’ and offers 5 different kitchens serving up diverse types of food within a dining hall situated within the Orpheum Theatre. Some of our favorite dishes during this outing had been the truffle fries, made-to-order donuts, and various types of Umami’s specialty: burgers.

Besides eating our way through some of LA’s notable restaurants, we’ll invest time during July and August attending events that are cultural checking away historic spots around the town. Some tasks we’ll experience include a tour that is guided of Disney Concert Hall and Music Center, enjoying the Downtown LA Art Walk, and hopping on the newly opened Expo line to take the train to the Culver City Farmers Market.
